Comments
When visitors leave comments (e.g., on posts or course reviews), we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent to help detect spam. An anonymized string (hash) derived from your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. After approval, your profile image (if any) is visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images or other media, avoid uploading files with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images posted online.
Cookies
We use cookies to improve functionality and remember your preferences. Examples:
- If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience (typically lasts one year).

Who we share your data with
- Payment Processing: We share limited data with trusted processors—Stripe and PayPal—to complete transactions. Typical fields include name, email, billing address, order ID, amount, and device/IP for fraud prevention. We do not store full card details on our servers.
- Security & Spam Prevention: Visitor data may be processed by automated security and anti-spam services.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose data to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights, or assist in investigations.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
How long we retain your data
- Comments: Comments and metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize and auto-approve follow-ups.
- User Accounts: For registered users, we store profile information they provide. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (username cannot be changed). Site administrators can also view and edit that information.
- Payment Records: Retained for as long as necessary to meet accounting, tax, and legal requirements.
- Usage/Log Data: Device/IP, timestamps, and error logs are retained for up to 13 months for security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and service improvement, after which we delete or aggregate the data unless a longer period is required by law.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including data you provided to us. You may also request that we erase personal data we hold about you, subject to data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through automated anti-spam and security services. Payment data is securely processed by Stripe and PayPal and may be transferred internationally, subject to applicable data protection laws and the providers’ safeguards.

We handle Personal Information in accordance with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI). International data transfers & safeguards
Some processors (Stripe, PayPal) may store or process data outside Japan. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on contractual and organizational safeguards implemented by these providers (e.g., data processing agreements, encryption, and access controls) to protect your Personal Information.
Additional information we collect and why
- Account Data: Name, email, and login credentials to create and manage your account.
- Service Data: Quiz results, progress, and activity logs to provide and improve the learning experience.
- Device/Usage Data: IP address, browser type/version, and pages visited for security and service improvement.
How we protect your data
We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption, access controls, and secure hosting. Sensitive payment information is handled by certified processors (Stripe and PayPal). While no method is 100% secure, we continuously improve safeguards to protect your data.
Refunds (Method & Processing)
Payments are processed by third-party providers (Stripe and PayPal). We do not store full card details on our servers.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method whenever possible. If refunding to the original method is not technically possible, we will transfer the refund to the customer’s bank account. Please email your refund details (order ID, name, and bank information if applicable) to support@ssw2.com.
Refund eligibility and timing follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy. After 48 hours from payment completion, refund requests cannot be approved. Depending on your card issuer or bank, funds may take 5–10 business days to appear after we process the refund. For security, we may request identity verification to prevent fraud and ensure refunds are sent to the rightful owner.
Children’s privacy
Our Services are intended for adults or those with parental consent. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data without consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting with the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
